Marriage and Singleness in the Kingdom

King and Servant

To be married is to lose you life for the sake of Jesus, which allows you to lose your life for the sake of your spouse. To be single is to lose your life for the sake of Jesus, which allows you to know you are loved completely and fully right now. What sort of gospel message could you declare to another if you lived out your marriage to lose your life for Jesus’ sake? What sort of healing power might be unleashed in those people in your life who don’t know Jesus if they saw you live out the sort of forgiveness and reconciliation that Jesus commands? What if you lived a life of faith that you are whole and complete in Christ right now? What sort of gospel message could you declare if you lived out your singleness to lose your life for Jesus’ sake? What sort of healing power for your friends, family, and co-workers might be unleashed as you live a life that declares that it is not your sexuality or even marriage that defines you…but Christ alone? What if you lived a life of faith that you are whole in Christ, right now? What sort of gospel message could you declare if you have not lived up to God’s standard, but turn to Jesus in repentance and faith? What if you lived a life of faith that Jesus has washed you clean and has made you whole? Treat what you have right now as a gift. If you are single…praise God. If you are married…praise God. Seek your hope in Jesus…and in Jesus alone!
