Director of Family Ministries (25hrs/week):

Christ’s Community Church is seeking a Director of Family Ministries. This person will direct discipleship ministries for children from birth through elementary school. This person must have a strong Christian faith, be passionate for discipling children with the Gospel, and have experience working with volunteers.


To create and coordinate opportunities within the church for ministry to children and parents, to help identify areas of spiritual need, and to empower those serving to use their gifts and talents for God and His church.

Role Description


  • Disciple children, parents, and volunteers in the worship and way of Jesus and toward greater dependence upon him.
  • Direct spiritual formation for all children’s ministries. These currently include the nursery (3 months–3 years), L’il Worship (3yrs–6yrs), and Children’s Worship (7yrs–11yrs).
  • Evaluate, build, and develop children’s ministries to meet current and future needs for all age groups, particularly for current ministry needs for grades 4 and 5.
  • Develop meaningful, gospel-centered relationships with children and families at CCC.
  • Provide for welcoming ministry to families who are churched, unchurched, and de-churched.
  • Coordinate and pursue unity with other areas of ministry at CCC.
  • Along with the Senior Pastor, develop a five-year strategy for the discipleship of students from middle school through college.

Volunteer discipleship

  • Recruit, coordinate, and schedule volunteers for serving in all areas of children’s ministry.
  • Communicate both formally and informally with volunteers for the sake of spiritual care.
  • Evaluate and implement curriculum under direction of pastor and CCC Session.
  • Train and assist volunteers in their particular areas of ministry and lesson preparation.


  • Maintain updated background checks with the assistance of the church secretary.
  • Clarify and implement volunteer processes and policies and train volunteers in them, particularly CCC’s existing Child Safety Policy.
  • Maintain and prepare ministry spaces for children.
  • Coordinate welcome and check-in process for children on Sunday mornings.
  • Regularly report on state of ministry and program needs to the CCC Session.
  • Develop annual budget narrative.
