It is when everything is at its darkest point, that is when God’s heart shines out brightest. This is what I mean by that… Exodus 34:6-7 is where God proclaims all his goodness (33:19). That is literally what the text says. This is the moment when God tells us who he really is…his very heart…it is the center of the theology of the OT…in the Bible, it is only exceeded by the Father’s gift of Jesus himself and the Holy Spirit.
