The gospel of Jesus Christ and the grace of God is scandalous…and promiscuous. The more defiled, broken, and crushed by her own sin and shame she is. The more she disgusts herself and others around her—the filthier her touch—somehow the more Jesus’ eyes are only for her and the closer he moves toward her. If you look at Jesus long enough here, you might hear the whisper of the Song of Songs 4:9-10…you captivate my heart…how beautiful your love… And while everyone in the room is either offended or in absolute awe and murmuring to themselves…he draws her in and speaks tenderly to her—forgiven—go in peace!
