Because we are sinners, it is our natural tendency to take God’s movement toward us and redefine it as our movement toward him. He allows us to move toward him in particular ways for our good, but he will not allow us to confuse it as some sort of transaction. He redeems and speaks to his people out of his goodness, mercy, and grace.
