Advent reminds us not to be satisfied in the way things are, whether good or bad—but to wait in eager expectation for the coming of the King who scatters the proud and lifts up the humble; the one who took on flesh so we might find God; the one who died so we can live; the one who lives and reigns so we can overcome. He will come again and our wait will be over so that all that is his will become ours. You and I will find satisfaction in no one else.
