Real, biblical repentance, is the surrender of your life caused by entering into the presence of the Living God. It’s is not a thing you do once in awhile…it is a way of life—because the problem of sin reaches every part of your life. All sin is the fruit that has its roots in our hearts. All sin involves unbelief, disobedience, and idolatry. If all we ever do is notice the fruit of sin and we don’t address the origin in the roots, we aren’t really repenting. We have to go beneath the surface to that unbelief and those idols in our hearts.
