Rescuer and Judge
God’s judgment of all things at the second coming of Jesus has always been a central part of the Christian message. God has intervened in order that many would be saved from his wrath. Now that Jesus has died (atoning for sin) and has been raised (the first-born of the new creation) and is seated at the Father’s right hand (gathering all of his people into his kingdom—always living to intercede for them)—this same Jesus will not spend one more second than he has to apart from us. All of creation will be judged by the righteous one who was condemned on our behalf…delivered over for our transgressions.
