Manna was not just the daily bread, but the provision so that his people would know God as he is and know that he is their greatest need, and that obeying his Word would lead to knowing his very heart. He means to do them good. We must believe with a firm conviction that the God who is good means to do good to us—that this is his very heart. But we will not know that without believing and obeying.
