There is a direct relationship between what we worship and our character. There is a direct relationship between what we worship and justice in the Bible. Where one is in disarray, so is the other. We forget who God is and what he has done…we take on the image of the false gods we submit to…oppressive, apathetic, easily manipulated, and power hungry…not to mention blind, deaf—spiritually unable to respond rightly to the desperate needs of ourselves or others. We become like the things we worship because those things we worship are the things that we actually love.
