He didn’t shatter the kingdoms of the earth as a mighty military conqueror…he was shattered for them…his awesome power was veiled for a time as he broke the power that was behind the nations by pouring out his precious blood. God declared over the resurrected, exalted and enthroned Jesus ---“you are my Son, today I have begotten you.” Paul talks about it in Acts 13, the book of Hebrews talks about it, the book of Revelation talks about a ton. Psalm 2 embraces the reality of a great spiritual and cosmic war…it is on that deeper reality that our Lord Jesus was displayed publicly the breaker of nations.
