Jesus, Clothed in His Gospel

This table is for all who believe. This supper is the way we continue to come to Jesus by faith to receive again and again and again the only thing we need for live and salvation—Jesus himself. Jesus is the gospel. He is held out to you in the Bible and at this table by the Father through the Holy Spirit. Come to this table and find in him alone all you need—he alone is able—he loved you and gave himself for you—for ALL who believe. We come to this table and find that he has healed and cleansed our past, he is the life we need in the present, and he is our ever-present hope for the future. Someone last week asked me an absolutely GREAT question. Why do we have weekly communion? We do this because we are centered on Jesus…and at this table we are offered Christ alone. It is entirely about Jesus. Jesus says, “Come to me at this table and remember who I am…let your faith feast on me. I alone am able to save you, and nourish you, and bring you home to the Father.”
