Message: “Confession” from Michael Daling

The resurrection proves that God was going to judge the world through Jesus! It is God’s final “yes” to Jesus… When the Father raised Jesus from the dead, he declared the truth about this man who was condemned by the whole world as a blasphemer and a fraud—that he was perfectly righteous and true. Now that Jesus has been raised from the dead, God has put everything else “on the clock”. And we can be sure that if God has rendered full and final judgment on the Son…then it is certain that he will judge everything else in creation by the Son. So, with hope in Christ’s coming, repent of every way you try to be religious apart from Jesus. Advent is about waiting…and, as those who live after the resurrection of the Son of God, we await the day when the God of justice will come and fill the earth with his holy presence. Advent is a season of repentance…prepare the way of the Lord! This doesn’t amount to “dwelling on the negative” in a season we would rather be happy…the command to repent is a call to let the truth reign in our lives and set us free! It plants us firmly in the hope we have in Jesus.
