God's Thoughts and Ways
Seek the Lord while he may be found and call upon him while he is near…what he means SPECIFICALLY is this: let the wicked forsake his way and the iniquitous man his thoughts. This is not a call to good people. It is a call to the desperately wicked…not the righteous, but the sinner. Not the person who has done all they can, but the one who is too far gone by every human measure. Let him return…let her repent…turn from your own ways and surrender all to God’s ways. Find that v.7b—God will have compassion on…he will greatly/abundantly pardon/forgive. That’s not just good news, it’s the best news. But there’s a catch: give up your own thoughts and ways BECAUSE —my thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not my ways. God is saying—I’M NOT LIKE YOU.
